Bristol City Council is hiring for a Software Developer to work on integration, middleware and the enterprise service bus.

It's a chance to be part of a rapidly transforming civic organisation, helping deliver digital solutions which support important front-line services for citizens across the city.

This position may suit a junior or mid-level Software Developer ready to accrue valuable skills from using modern software engineering practices, automation and enterprise languages such as TIBCO BusinessWorks.

Joining a small team with technical mentoring and positive leadership, you will be collaborating on important projects which; connect systems together, integrate new and legacy technologies, orchestrate business logic, and explore and implement new technologies.

About you
  • Positive, hard-working and easy to get on with
  • Quick to adapt and fast learner
  • Coding skills around the middleware and business logic layers e.g. Tibco BusinessWorks, Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar, Visual Basic or C# .NET, and SQL Server or MySQL
  • Competent writing Web services e.g. REST or SOAP
  • You may bring, or like to gain, skills in any of; Tibco BusinessWorks, SharePoint, Linux, Windows Server, AWS
