Epimorphics wants you to help shape and run an attentive DevOps function.

We are an exciting company at the cutting edge of open data publication in the UK. Our solutions are running at scale on AWS, delivering important online services for government and private sector clients. We're now aiming to improve the speed and lower the cost at which we can deploy new and improved services.

We need you to help improve and run the workflows that enable our software engineers to develop, test and deploy those new services. These workflows need to be resilient, reliable and responsive as well as efficient and easy to use. Designing and implementing them is a significant technical and engineering challenge, and a meaningful way to apply your coding skills.

This is a chance to manage all aspects of complex systems; learning, using and enhancing modern DevOps tools. You'll receive structured mentoring, learning your craft amongst an expert peer group, gaining valuable skills as we innovate continuously and launch new services.

Example projects:

  • Transforming our patchwork of Chef and custom tools for our growing fleet of AWS instances
  • Testing and evaluating new technologies, such as LXC containers and Docker
  • Developing custom programs, tools and utilities which help us create great software
  • Infrastructure builds for new projects

About you

  • You have a degree level understanding of computer science, and excellent earlier grades
  • You're adaptable, quick to learn and you relish solving and automating systems level tasks
  • You bring intermediate Linux admin skills, from your own projects, University or employment
  • You're comfortable scripting, using any of Bash, Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell, Tcl, etc. or coding in Java
