System & Application Support Engineer | nights | 12 month contract | Loughton (central line, Essex) | 1261

Trapeze ITS is hiring a night shift Systems and Application Support Engineer - as second line support - for the technology solutions that keep passenger transport services running for many cities worldwide.

This is about supporting the robust systems and software that underpin transport control centre systems for major metropolitan areas around the world - helping millions of people to complete their journeys efficiently, safely and on time.

As a valued member of the service desk team, you will help ensure the highest level of technical support is delivered to our customers across international time zones.

In addition to systems support and maintenance work, you will monitor, log, investigate and manage application incidents and escalate as applicable. You also will deal with third party suppliers and carry out operational tasks such as user administration, backups and anti-virus.

We're looking for

  • Strong analytical skills and proven problem solving abilities
  • Strong 1st line support experience, a customer focus and enjoys working independently
  • Recent experience working nights and comfortable working the night shift - 9pm to 7am, four days each week (rotating; Mon to Thurs for one month, then Thurs to Sunday for one month)
  • Strong skills administering Windows Servers (up to 2016)
  • Experience with systems monitoring, status reporting and security patching
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as NETIQ, HPOV, SNMP and producing technical reports

Salary and benefits

  • £33,000 - £37,000+ negotiable
